Accountant

This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for strengthening the growth of the company by enhancing the decision-making capacity of its managers. The successful candidate will achieve this by ensuring that the information provided is accurate and value-adding to the decision-making process.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly accounting statements, journals, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
• Preparation of month-end accounts and statutory financial statements.
• Cash Flow Management including Forecast and Analysis of CAPEX payments, taxes, and dividends.
• Review of payment vouchers and supporting documents.
• Preparation for statutory audit requirements.
• Prepare SOPs and DOPs and provide finance reviews as and when required.
• Actively participate in cross-functional team meetings on key projects and initiatives.
• Support Supply Chain Management Department.
• Support the Chief Financial Officer with planning on budgeting and forecasting.
• Perform financial analysis and business cases.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting and Financial Management or equivalent.
• Be analytical and detail-oriented with good financial skills and an expert understanding of current accounting standards.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and stick to time constraints.
• Additional qualifications such as CPA, CA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• A better understanding of IAS 21 will be an added advantage.
• Advanced understanding of supply chain management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyse and summarize complex information.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with spreadsheet and accounting software programs
